I exposed an illegal practice of Human Resources using our MIDAS system to show all managers, directors, executive directors, ADMS and DMs the (names of) people who had been on LTD.
I sent an email to the SK PSC HR individuals and I demanded that this be removed from my file and that was the reason no Executive Director or other managers were hiring me. I did a survey through two ministries and asked managers if they would "hire this person". I covered up my name and they all stated "No. It looks like they're on LTD for years." Hmm, I was on for a couple of years but my ENTIRE work history claimed/stated that from day 1, I was on LTD.
So, me having way too much confidence and no fear of people or situations, made my demands, the HR individuals were extremely embarrassed and did not know how to deal with me as a very educated woman. I stated that I would make their lives miserable if and take all this evidence to the press/media if they didn't remove it in a very timely manner. I complained to the PSC, the Provincial Human Rights Commission, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education and almost the media. There was 0 time to process the negotiation of the NDA. That effect was immediate as it was suggested that I ought to get a TFSA to be able to get my insignificant $20,000.
I was given a day to decide. I wasn't asked, I was told to sign the NDA and settlement and release and I would get back my back pay, my human rights case would be withdrawn so the public couldn't read the outcome and the government would not look like they committed illegal acts since 2006 when MIDAS was implemented. The impact this had on me was captured in the recording of the Assistant Deputy Minister of Education. Horrific words were spoken to me with my union rep present at the last of 5 recorded meetings I had with (m)any HR and ADM and other Justice Ministry officials present.
I then came back to my home province to go to law school. As we moved back to my home province, our moving truck hit the ditch and the highway cleaners, a hutterite colony, the RCMP scrambled to remove all of our destroyed house items, which included my usb keys with all damaging evidence against the GOS. A few months later, someone sent my keys to the new house (the information of our new home was on one of the keys). So, this impact was heavy because the individual/s who had read this information has every right to bring this damaging evidence to the courts and media on behalf of all employees in the Provincial Government.
