STORY 82

Even though I haven't signed a formal NDA, nor have my university tried to ask me to sign one as they are part of the Can't Buy My Silence pledge, I have been silenced and punished from the moment I made the disclosure.

At the time, I disclosed what happened to four close friends, and the university threatened them. They were told they could lose their position if they told anyone, as it would be seen as spreading 'misinformation.' As a result, they no longer supported me with this. I disclosed what happened to the perpetrator's partner. This led to him falsely reporting me for harassment, me receiving a 7-week suspension from an aspect of the university and an investigation.

Upon the day of the investigation meeting, they decided it was no longer relevant and did not listen to my evidence which showed he had lied. He faced no consequences. My perpetrator also falsely reported me to the police for harassment and told them that we had been told we could not disclose any information to anyone. Upon bringing this to the university's attention, they decided it was not misconduct under their policies and took no action about his lie to the police about an NDA being in place. Again, he faced no consequences.

While I have not signed an NDA, I have been silenced by my university and have actively been punished for trying to speak out. His actions from one night hurt me. The university's actions over the past 20 months have destroyed me.
