STORY 68

I was senior legal counsel at a government funded and controlled commission established to protect the vulnerable. Particulars of my story must remain anonymous due to solicitor client privilege and due to an NDA I signed. After discovering substantial corruption and substantiated allegations of sexual harassment within the institution, which I wrote up in a series of memos, I was summarily terminated. As a term of the release for severance, I was required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. At the time I felt this was contrary to public policy to have a government entity require departing employees to routinely sign nondisclosure agreements.
